Fashion Week: The Best of International Design

The biggest week in fashion has begun! With international fashion collections on display, people from all over the world come to New York to witness this prodigious event. For those of you who can’t make it, don’t worry, World Bride Magazine is here for you!

Fashion week celebrates FASHION in all its forms. Not only can you see the classic catwalks, you can attend many different events, such as wine expositions, home-made items, gastronomy, make-up and hair styles, art, and many more. We want to share with you some of the amazing events we attended.

Hellessy, the illustrious dress collection by Sylvie Millstein, is going to surprise you with a new, beautiful Spring/Summer 2016 collection. Hellessy represents the modern woman, a woman who needs to be practical and elegant at the same time. So the new collection is a mix of soft colors and comfort, without forgetting to be sensual. Inspired by the natural beauty and contrast of steamy summer admist and urban landscape, the collection recalls a summer rooftop sunset. The dominant colors of this collection are beige and orange, but we can also find a classical black and white. Pieces that are a perfect fit and show a sense of independence and freedom, using natural fibers like cupro, raw linen, and cotton macrame. We can admire a white silk/cotton faille combo off-shoulder top with shirttail hem paired with black grosgrain crepe track pants; textured jacquard halter dress; blush hand-knit silk cocoon cardigan and matching long tank with the belt worn over orange cupro pleated maxi skirt.

We can find the same sober, colored elegance in the new Mimi Plange’s collection. All Mimi’s creations are inspired by the creativity of lost African Civilizations. She surprises us with a printed silk twill shirt dress; satin organza ruffle dress; summer tweed sheath dress; ostrich feather trim blouse full skirt; beaded gown with train and many more! The show took place in a suggestive location in the 5th Avenue: the models showed Mimi’s beautiful collection walking throught a luxury room in a skyline, behind them the enchanting Manhattan’s view.

But fashion week is also fond of recycling. Luciana Morais shows us particular items, purses, necklaces, earrings… why particular? Because they are sustainable and hand-made products from Brazil! Look at this picture: do you know what is it made with? … Nespresso capsules!

Well, as we said, it’s not only about catwalks. We can also stop to savor fine wines in one of the stands around Manhattan, discovering delicious collections like Boisset, a mix of the old and new world of wine with Franco – American spirit. Do you want to taste something different? You just have to choose: the Segura Viudas? It’s a sparkling wine from Spain, the perfect blend of fruit, freshness and complexity. The Cotè Mas? From France, with delicate and persistent bubbles.

Can’t get enough of Fashion Week? Join us for more, because this is just the beginning!
