Winston’s Crew Collective: The Band for Your Perfect Wedding

Music is an expression of fun, happiness and love. It’s one of the many crucial parts to your dream wedding. You and your beloved are finally married, now it’s time to dance and have fun! There are a multitude of options to choose from when it comes to the instrumentation on your big day, but World Bride Magazine wants to introduce you to a special band that can perform live for you as you tie the knot.

Winston’s Crew Collective is a collection of talented artists, led by Dannis Winston, that perform live at private events and weddings. The group began in 2012, gathering their individual vocal strengths into one powerful and entertaining ensemble. Their musical repertoire includes rock, jazz, classical, reggae and so much more. But their biggest, unmatched strength is their ability to create custom musical experiences catering to their clients’ desires. For instance, if you want a slow version of Chris Brown’s “Don’t Wake Me Up” at your wedding, they will do just that.

When I interviewed Dannis, I could clearly hear the passion in his voice when it came to his band and their music. I asked him what inspired him to be part of a band and he told me it came from one song: “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire. This song inspired him to want to perform with other talented musicians and “have fun with friends and rock out, to create an atmosphere with people on stage.” His favorite thing about performing at weddings is seeing the bride and groom dance by themselves for the first time.

To Dannis, music means freedom. “When I perform, it’s a nonverbal freedom you can have. When people think about my band, I want them to think, ‘Drink, party, have fun!’”

His last bit of advice for future brides and grooms when it comes to choosing music for their big day: “Choose a band that is diverse in its musical capability.”
