Tadahiro Iwasaka From Japan to New York

Tadahiro Iwasaka is a Japanese artist born in a town named Wakayama, and who moved to New York City several years ago and fell in love with the culture. Born from a long lineage of carpenters, his father chose to fine tune his skills and became an architect. But these were not mere standard carpenters, these artisans built the most magnificent shrines and temples in Japan. After observing and working with his family Tadahiro used his artistic gifts to enhance the external attributes of human forms via hair, makeup, and body painting. He has dedicated his success and inspiration to his beloved grandfather who recently passed away.

It was during his visit to New York that he fell deeply in love with its fascinating world of artists and its amazing cadre of inspirational talent was simply inspirational. After learning a few basics in English, Tadahiro opened himself to being inspired by his American experience, where he quickly learned that each new experience was authentic and random. Equipped with his camera and pen he set out to capture the best of New York City.

The legacy from his parents made him determined to be more than a bi-stander in this eclectic city; Tadai quickly made friends with various artists in the fashion and music industry. His friends vary from models and makeup artists that recognized his unique talent and passion for makeup and nails, which led him to start working on set in the most prestigious fashion shows for New York Fashion Week, Miami Fashion Week and all the while, capturing their work behind the scene with his other passion, photography. While these cherished moments were fun, these resourceful talented acquaintances made it easy for Tadai to become an asset to all those who lovingly know him.

Having learned the rules of this industry Tadai (fondly called by friends) is a model’s best friend when she is about to tie the knot – thus making him a “haute commodity.” This business growth potential becomes very clear – when one model leads you to another and another; no need for business cards the referrals keep him busy if not the shows, shoots and events. For us Tadai is one to watch in the beauty world. And his English has definitely improved.
