Recreating Some of the Hottest Looks from New York Fashion Week SS17

INGLOT

This season we saw an abundance of classic red lips, dewy natural skin, trending blue eye shadows, dark sultry eyes, and masterfully done Avant-garde looks. When it comes to covering a full spectrum of makeup styles, INGLOT Cosmetics had fashion week covered. Check out some of their hottest looks of the season here with products used listed to recreate these looks for whatever the occasion may be:

The Midnight Flower: More editorial in nature, this beautiful “Midnight at the Botanical Bash” look designed by lead makeup artist Edward Cruz for Inglot, was a huge hit at the Michael Costello runway show. The look embraced dark berry and golden/bronze colors on the eyes and lips while keeping the skin fresh and light – free of heavy blush, highlights, and contouring. “This season we really thought about how the natural beauty of a flower resembles that of a woman: Delicate, radiant, unique,” said designer Michael Costello. “The makeup speaks to our idea of how dark and moody is often glamorous, elegant and intriguing.” Cruz’s look accomplished just that:

Eyes were blended using INGLOT’s Freedom System Eye Shadow Matte in #296 and #299 from their new What A Spice! Collection as the base followed by a layer of deep gold and berry sparkle using IGNLOT’s AMC Pure Pigment Eye Shadow in #81 and #24. The lip was created by layering Lipstick Matte in #438 with AMC Lip Paint in #58 to create an opaque, berry ombre lip. For seamless application, apply eyeshadow using INGLOT’s eyeshadow bending brushes in 4SS, 6SS, and 7FS. This look would be great for a night out at the club, a trendy costume party, and any evening event requiring a more editorial look.

The Prairie Girl: Very understated and natural, this “every day” look created by lead makeup artist Stevie Huynh at the Orla Kiely SS17 fashion presentation this year got a lot of attention. “The girl this season was inspired by an English prairie girl. There is a rosy kiss on the eyelid, but with a slight smoldering of dark taupes to add a mystery to her,” said Huynh.

The eyes were blended using taupe contour shades including Freedom System Eye Shadow Matte in #305 from the new What A Spice! Collection to define and sculpt the eye socket with an emphasis on smoking out the bottom lash line. Dark brown Freedom System Eye Shadow Matte in #299 was then used to define the top lash line. This was followed by Freedom System Blush in #29 to fill in the eyelid and blend into the crease, making sure that there were no hard lines visible. Lastly, INGLOT’s Brow Shaping Mascara was used on the lashes for a more understated definition than traditional mascara. The pale pink lips were created using a sheer application of AMC Liquid Face Blush in #93. This is a great casual look for those days were you want to embrace an all-natural beauty.

The Ying Yang: Perfect for a costume party or event requiring an Avant-garde makeup style, this graphic and high-contrast look was designed by lead makeup artist Bennet Jason for INGLOT to compliment the architectural “brush-stroked” design of the Cristina Ruales SS17 collection.

Labeled as giving off a “Nature vs. Architecture” vibe, this eye makeup look was created solely by using black AMC Eyeliner Gel in #77. This “brush stroke” look can be easily replicated by applying the eyeliner gel with INGLOT’s 23T makeup brush along the waterline and into the upper lashes followed by applying product with fingertips in the desired area and brushing outward with sweeping strokes using INGLOT’s 37R fan brush.
