GETTING MARRIED IN BUENOS AIRES

Buenos Aires usually surprises those who visit it because of its European style right in the middle of Latin America. Recoleta neighborhood may easily be mistaken for any París quartier. This is one of the most elegant and sophisticated areas in the city. You can find lots of Petit hotels scattered around that once belonged to aristocratic families. Today, many of these incredible residences have been turned into venues and exclusive stores of the most famous brands in the world.

In an even more exclusive circuit of the neighborhood, we can find the 4 best hotels in Argentina. Hotels with heritage and great prestige where rock stars and celebrities have stayed during their visits to the country.
I have had the opportunity to visit them all. And also, have been able to attend wedding receptions held there.  I can guarantee, you will rarely find so much luxury, glamor, and sobriety in the same place.

So, perhaps, this could become the perfect place to host your rehearsal dinner, accommodate your guests and even celebrate the reception on the wedding day ?! All this without leaving the hotel! Can you imagine sharing a luxurious hotel with all your friends and family?
To write this article I decided to go through each one. I must tell you that although I already knew them, I was once again dazzled by.
Alvear Avenue is one of the most famous and expensive streets in the whole country. Along this avenue surrounded by embassies, antique residences, and luxurious apartments we find two of these hotels. The Alvear Hotel, and the Duhau Palace.

ALVEAR PALACE HOTEL:

Alvear Palace Hotel @alvearpalace Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Located at the corner of Av. Alvear and Ayacucho. Its rooms are majestic. The Hotel is a clear example of the Louis XIV and Louis XVI styles, which are visible in their style furniture, crystal chandeliers, walls decorated with gold plates and works of art by renowned artists.

People at the Alvear Palace Hotel work under the highest international standards of excellence. In 1993 the Alvear Palace Hotel became a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.
It has 12 magnificent event rooms with a capacity for up to 800 people. Couples can count on experts advice. The Hotel is an excellent option to celebrate a wedding, from the rehearsal to the honeymoon.

PALACIO DUHAU – PARK HYATT BUENOS AIRES

Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt @palacioduhau Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt Buenos Aires is located on Avenida Alvear too, in the heart of Recoleta neighborhood. This five-star luxury hotel offers an incredible and unique experience for social gatherings.

Palacio Duhau – Park Hyatt @palacioduhau Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The hotel consists of two buildings, a restored palace from 1934 (with 23 rooms) and a modern tower (with 142 rooms) that cleverly combines the belle époque architecture of Buenos Aires with an elegant and contemporary design.

Each building at Palacio Duhau can become the framework of an unforgettable celebration. The hotel has a wide experience in all kinds of social events. A specialized team takes care of all the details; from floral arrangements to the creation of an haute cuisine customized menu. The hotel also has collaboration agreements with many renowned professionals and companies to define details for each event.

There are two sophisticated restaurants with magnificent chandeliers and majestic marble floors. A spa, pool, gym, a wine bar, and everything you may need.  It also has a flower shop inside,.. just in case, the bride forgot to order the bouquet! Wedding planners are also available.
I think that one of the hotel´s major assets is the possibility of having the photo session in the gardens that connect the two buildings.
I have been lucky enough to attend a wine tasting one night at the hotel and I have never honestly been in a place as charming as this one. The lighting of the gardens at night is super romantic and elegant.
In order to take advantage of these gardens, I recommend weddings in spring or autumn. In these specific seasons the garden colors are even more beautiful and the the weather is ideal.

THE BRICK HOTEL (member of MGallery Collection)

The Brick Hotel @thebrickhotel Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Brick hotel is set just one block away from Duhau Palace, over Posadas Street. It is conveniently located in front of Patio Bullrich, a quite prestigious shopping center where you can only find the best brands in Argentina.

The Brick Hotel is much more modern than the hotels previously named. While it is equally striking, its decoration is more sober. The lighting style is also modern and its facade breaks with the Parisian look of the neighborhood.
The people at the hotel were very kind to me. I think that a cozy staff becomes essential when it comes to hosting such an important moment as it is a wedding.

FOUR SEASONS:

Four Seasons Hotel @fsbuenosaires . Buenos Aires, Argentina

Finally, just one block from the Brick Hotel (Yes, I was not kidding! They are all located one block away from each other!) is the Four Season. In my opinion, this one  is the most impressive one from an architectural point of view. As Palacio Duhau, the Four Season is also made up of two buildings. La Mansion and The Tower Building.

Four Seasons Hotel @fsbuenosaires . Buenos Aires, Argentina

La Mansion: It is an early 20th-century home that anchors the Hotel, with its rooms featuring original Old World style – high ceilings, shimmering chandeliers and marble bathrooms – enhanced by antiques and period furnishings.

The Tower Building: The modern building behind La Mansión houses the Hotel’s newest rooms. Here, you’ll find airy, spacious accommodations with traditional details such as leather-upholstered headboards complementing expansive city views.

Celebrating a wedding at La Mansion: The Beaux-arts style “La Mansion”was a wedding gift from Mr Alzaga Unzue to his bride. This place is now an exclusive palace to celebrate a wedding. It has a private garden terrace where a ceremony can be celebrated too!

(I took this information from their website)

The hotel is the only one in Latin America which has a Chef who is part of the World’s 50 Best: Juan Gaffuri in charge of its gastronomy, including the event menu. The pastry chef, has designed a catering menu following the successful imprint of its restaurants and bar.
The hotel has 11 rooms, many of them connected to terraces and gardens, which are ideal for the Spring-Summer season receptions. The “jewel” of the hotel is La Mansión, from 1920, this building has become a part of the historical heritage of the city. The combination of the gardens, La Mansión, and Salón Felix in the main tower is perfect for a wedding.

Four Seasons MUST:
Grilled octopus, emulsion of yellow pepper and almonds, rosemary potatoes, burnt leek aioli.

Desserts include the Belgian chocolate biscuit 54.5%, creamy milk chocolate, white chocolate ice cream, roasted pears
Drinks at the bar are handled by its successful Bar, Pony Line lounge, with options of Piletero (Ketel One Vodka, Orange, Sauvignon Blanc, Mint, Hibiscus, Passion Fruit), Cabrones de Oaxaca (Mezcal Bruxo Pechuga, Ginger, Tincture of Coffee, , Honey, Passion Fruit) and Theseus (Bombay Sapphire, Malamado, Lavender, Pomegranate Juice, Lemon, Tonic) among others.

The hotel offers options for honeymooners too. The hotel’s website is very complete. I recommend readers to navigate it.
I think that its proximity to “La Recova” makes it even better. La Recova occupies just a block and it is located under a bridge. The most exclusive and romantic restaurants are situated there. The gastronomic offer is excellent.

For chocolate lovers: Right in front of the Hotel and next to the Piegari restaurant, there is a place called HAVANNA. I strongly recommend you to try: an havanet, an alfajor or just a lemon cookie … Trust me, I really know what I am talking about!!
