From Girlfriend to MRS. in 5 days!

What started as a connection in the DM’s led to the love of a lifetime for JaLisa & Cory Jefferson. A back lawn ceremony just 5 days after the proposal set the stage for a home quarantine love story to remember.

Two major planners met their match in each other this year as Bride, JaLisa E. Vaughn was surprised with a beautiful proposal by Groom, Cory Jefferson at her parents’ home. “Cory and I dated for almost exactly one year before he proposed”, the bride says. “Due to the current climate of our world (COVID-19 pandemic), Cory worked with my parents and my brother to set up the proposal at our weekly family Bible study.”

Only 5 days after popping the question, the couple pulled together an intimate ceremony at home, full of love and a close-knit family party of 10 or less.

The couple chose their Dallas backyard for the romantic ceremony and committed not only their love to each other but also their steadfastness in writing their own rules of life & love.

“I always viewed marriage as an eternal and sacred commitment to God and to your spouse—a commitment to seek God and remain best friends forever”, the new Mrs. Jefferson shares.

Carrying a bouquet of white roses, crafted by her best friends and walking down the aisle to “Happily Ever After” by Case, the bride wore a long-sleeved, head to toe ivory lace gown by Grace Loves Lace. “In 20 minutes I tried on this dress and was out the door! I am so grateful for them, their incredible service and for accommodating me on such short notice.”

The Jeffersons proved this year that over communication can be a great thing for a fresh marriage, starting their love story rooted and grounded in their vocal faith.

When leaving advice for other brides or romantic hopefuls planning their big day during this time of home quarantine and beyond, bride JaLisa Jefferson passionately states, “Remember what’s actually important. That’s you two and what makes you happy. Make sure you’re doing it for YOU.”

Just like their friends who drove by their home for their “mobile reception”, we’re cheering this couple on and looking our for greatness from the new Jeffersons.
