Satisfying Ones Sweet Tooth by Renee Gershman

Wedding cakes throughout history date back to the Roman era. Wedding cakes to some couples have been the centerpiece of their celebration.
Cakes do not have to be the traditional 3 round tier extravaganza, your choices are endless with the right artist; finding the right one for you may prove to be the most challenging aspect of this mission. Cakes have been designed in every shape and every configuration imaginable to the artesian.
New York based, internationally known Couture Cake Designer Margo Lewis, creator, innovator has single handedly blown our minds with her breath taking designs. Plain white or yellow cakes are a thing of the past; this designer can bake cakes in any flavor imaginable to satisfy your taste buds.
There are many options for making your wedding cake special:
Having a variety of flavors filling each layer of your cake.
Customize with different fruit reductions, liquors, custards, and different frosting to make your cake special.
Frosting which comes in two variations, the first is butter cream frosting. This frosting is made out a combination of sugar and butter. It is very rich, and gives a cake a more homespun appearance.
For a more polished, smoother, and finished look a cake may be covered in another frosting called fondant. Fondant icing is made of a paste out of water and ground almonds and has a taste of very similar to marzipan.
The decorations for a wedding cake are endless, a bride and groom should take a little time and explore how the cake will reflect them as individuals, and or as a couple. The cake can have a form of design off the brides wedding dress. A bride and grooms hobbies can be incorporated into a wedding cake. The possibilities are endless.
Please note that in some parts of the country, usually in the south, couples have another tradition in the dessert department. The groom’s cake; it is usually for him and his friends. This cake can be served at the rehearsal dinner or at some point during the wedding day. There is no right or wrong to this tradition. This cake is usually dark compared to the wedding cake, and usually reflects the groom’s personality.
