When Do You Send Out Wedding Invitations?

When planning a wedding every detail is important and requires the utmost attention from the invitations to the actual day. The invitations allow for your expected guest to have enough time to attend your special day.

So what is proper wedding invitation etiquette? Typically invitations are sent out six to eight weeks prior to the celebration. If the wedding is out of town or requires family and friends to travel then 3 months prior is great. Invitations provide your guest with much important details of your celebration – date, time, venue and RSVPs etc.

Request for RSVP’s should be within three weeks of the proposed wedding date, having your website listed on your invitation makes it easier for the invitee to “save-the-date.”

Details such as registry information should never be included in the invites, perhaps including this information on your website is most tasteful. Save things such as no kids, dress code and additional guest or “plus-one” for invites are acceptable. Place names on the invites to keep additional “guest” from attending.

So when planning that Special Day don’t forget to pay extra attention to your invitations, they set the tone for the rest of celebration.

Lastly, Just Enjoy!!
