WBM Springs Back Into New York Luxury Fashion Week-2023 Report

When is the most an amazing time for the bridal industry? It’s New York Luxury Bridal Fashion Week and the city is bustling with creative movement. You can easily be whisked away.  From the whimsical trusses and intricate floral appliqués  to the influential homage to The Gilded Age designs; New York Luxury Bridal Fashion Week did not disappoint. I was afforded the opportunity to interview some amazing talents all of which passionately put their hearts and souls into each and every masterpiece. It was truly an honor to discuss each of their collections and what motivated and influenced their design choices.
As a wedding planner it  is important to offer a variety of services to assist our brides in their planning process and what better way than to have intimate conversations with some of the industry’s finest.

Designer Amsale Aberra
I was mesmerized by the amazing designs by Amsale!! They were versatile and spirited. For any bride looking for a fresh take on tradition or a clean modern spin on a classic look, Amsale is your designer!
Amsale’s designs started with a single wedding dress: her own. Seeking a more modern silhouette for her 1985 nuptials, Ethiopian native Amsale found her options limited and crafted her own pared-down design, elegant in its simplicity and quiet in its impact, featuring a distinct style that was modern and personal at the same time. What a beautiful  collection!

Today, Amsale’s legacy continues to mesmerize us and countless of brides. Her qualified team embraces their responsibility in maintaining the legends name and infusing new life into it for the modern bride. This season’s collection did not short change us by any means. The Amsale design team have taken their position seriously as guardians of the brand as though it was a holy grail. We are sure Amsale would approve.

It was an honor to interview and a pleasure to share space with such an amazing talent!

Size Inclusion Is Key

Dany Tabet

Beirut based designer, Dany Tabet’s dresses transcend from timeless to mystical. When I asked Mr. Tabet about his inspiration for his newest collection, he mentioned his passions and love of the sea and mermaids. The freshness of the intricate floral designs and the whimsical of his dramatic caps along with the collection’s regal overskirts do not disappoint. If you want a gown that is timeless, Mr Tabet’s collection will create a breathtaking and unforgettable moment for any bride.

Sheila Frank

Frank has become know for her skills in creating bespoke frocks that are size inclusive to Hollywood stars such at This Is Us star Chrissy Metz.
When you think of simple elegance you think of Sheila Frank. Her designs have a subtle romantic ease about them that can easily transition you  from your special day to everyday wear.  From the flirty flowers on her floor-length gowns to the shimmering after five ensembles, her collection has an understated sexiness that can carry you from the aisle to any formal event. When I interviewed Sheila, I asked about the diversity and flexibility of her line and her inspiration. She simply stated; ‘My dresses are an extension of me. I make my dresses for all women.’ Bravo Sheila..Bravo!!

There were so many amazing designers and so little time. The designer’s passions flowed through every collection. The one thing I found that each collection had in common was the empowerment and embracing of diversity in their designs and inclusion of every body type and skin tone. Every bride deserves to feel amazing on her wedding day and each one of these designers were purposeful in their efforts.
