Below are a selection from the Gucci gang who adorned themselves from traditional to outrageous. Each celeb making it their very own adding jewelry, accessories or putting personal touches on hair and makeup. The designer, Allesandro Michele himself attended and twinned with Jered Leto. See if you can figure out which one was which—it takes a good hard look.
Gucci’s PR department must have been buzzing in the weeks prior to The Met Gala, preparing and fitting looks for their army of celebs who will transform themselves on the red carpet with individualistic looks from this uber-cool brand. This year’s Guilded Glamour theme brought the event back to the first Monday in May after the many starts and stops of 2021 season. The theme left the door open for interpretation and each person had their own take from Billie Eilish in her corseted 1800’s look to Jodi Turner-Smith’s body revealing fringe number. There is room for everyone and all POV’s at the Met Gala.
The attendees seemed happier than usual to be back to the business of dressing up—and inspiring people to take fashion risks at the same time. The Gala has evolved into Fashion’s Mega event and brands realize the invaluable reach for exposure. For a week following the extravaganza, TV, blogs, radio and podcasts are talking, reviewing and dishing about the night of stars with proceeds from the event going to a very worthy cause.
