Do You Really Need To Attend A Bridal Show–The Pink Bride

For as long as I have known about producing weddings, attending a bridal show or expo has always been a place “to gather ideas and create my own intangible vision board and see what’s out there.” If you are a couple planning your nuptials, it is an essential aspect of finding the right vendors, second to getting referrals. If your are a business owner, it is one of the key ways to get in front of potential customers.

Wedding shows can be found in many cities around the country, and around the world. WBM has had the pleasure of attending countless of shows from New York to Dubai. They’re often held in chain hotels or venues that have the capabilities to host a wedding or corporate events. Some shows offer regional tours, while others offer national tour. Some of the organizations that host these show are The Pink Bride, Bridelux, The Great Bridal Expo, and Wedding Salon to name a few. For the record 2022 promises to be the year of the wedding. So buckle up. Some shows or expos are intimate, highlighting a few dozen or so vendors for about 150 attendees; others showcase 100 or more small and large businesses, to crowds of 300-plus, which makes up a nice chunk of our economy.

Why Even Attend A Show

Well, besides the bonding time you can have with your mom, maid of honor, and other members of your wedding planning team, the expos offer a wonderful way to meet creatives, that will make attending a show a memorable experience. At these shows you are bound to have a great time with the D.J.’s and band performances, fashion shows, food tasting, and glam team vending. Couples can envision things they didn’t even know they needed such as dance sessions, creative things to do for your cocktail hour which may include having Ben & Jerry’s ice cream cart to fresh waffle tastings. Travel representatives are often present from the most exotic destinations to help you decide if you want to have that destination wedding or simply find your honeymoon. Some even providing giveaways, prizes and discounts at the shows just for attending.

We are going to speak openly with some of these producers and ask them if they feel these shows are still relevant in today’s environment. First up in these series of conversations is Fred Jacob co-founder of The Pink Bride, which he and his wife founded some 31 years ago after they got married and continue to take joy in producing.

As they prepare to celebrate 48 years of they life, love and partnership together. They both continue to assist couples and businesses navigate their way through the wedding industry doing what they love.

The conversation with Fred was informative and reassuring for anyone looking for vendors, as well as working with couples who participate in his shows. While his shows are produced for the people of Tennessee and Birmingham Alabama, he knows the value of running such a production and the responsibilities that come with it. So if you are in those regions, don’t hesitate to stop in at one of his shows and tell them World Bride Magazine sent you.
