Jewelry House Chopard Presented Fashion For The First Time In Cannes

It’s the epitome of international chic. It’s where all the celebs gather for parties, shows, and of course the latest in film. The 76 Annual Cannes Film Festival took place in the French Riviera where the Red Carpet fashion is as “must see” as the films. Some of the looks pushed the outer limits of good taste but that is another story.

The storied French jewelry brand, Chopard has been a sponsor of this international contest for many years. But there is a first time for everything. Artistic Director Caroline Scheufele can now add fashion designer to her resume since debuting a grouping of 50 evening gowns to harmoniously accompany her glittering high jewelry creations. The dresses and looks are meant to anchor your evening wardrobe and worn with love, over and over. To that end, Scheufele created classic silhouettes, which will retain their relevance over time.

It was the perfect time to bring out the super models like Naomi Campbell, Helena Christensen and Eva Herzagova who strutted the catwalk in duchess satin, chiffon, velvet and feathered festooned dresses and gowns. All the dresses are Couture or made-to-order and fitted to perfection to each client’s unique body. The fashion show was followed by a private dinner—an elegant evening was enjoyed by all at this cross-over event where the jewelry and fashion worlds seamlessly merged.

Artistic Director Caroline Scheufele states,

“Women in love with beauty – meaning true beauty, the kind that never goes out of fashion. Pure elegance. Clothes that can be cherished over time, worn in a variety of circumstances and in countless ways, without ever losing their value or relevance. A wardrobe like a jewellery collection, which time makes more and more precious because they are accompanied by slices of life and carry with them experiences, memories and memorable moments. It is this approach to jewellery that I wanted to transpose to clothing.”
