Douceur Wedding Industry Networking & Showcase: A French-Inspired Evening in Charleston

On February 25, 2025, Charleston’s wedding industry gathered for an elegant evening of connection and inspiration at the Douceur Wedding Industry Networking & Showcase. Hosted at the stunning Kersey House in Summerville, South Carolina, the event seamlessly blended French sophistication with Southern charm.

The Event That Keeps Growing

Founded in 2022 by Charleston’s renowned wedding officiant Casey Albrecht, what started as an intimate networking event for just 20 industry professionals has flourished into one of Charleston’s most sought-after events. Now drawing 200-300 attendees per event and fostering over 1,000 industry connections, it has become a must-attend occasion for wedding vendors and engaged couples alike.

With the event planning expertise of power duo Jenna and Jordan Lanier of Lanier and Company behind her, Casey has cultivated an atmosphere of effortless sophistication and opportunity at every event.

The Charming Venue

The Kersey House, a French-inspired bistro and historic home, provided a picturesque backdrop for the evening. With its old-world architecture and warm ambiance, it set the stage for a truly Parisian affair. Every detail reflected the event’s theme: “Douceur,” which means softness and gentleness in French.

A Showcase of Charleston’s Best

The event began with a beautifully curated styled shoot, showcasing vendors’ finest work. The midday production featured luxurious bridal gowns, whimsical floral arrangements, and elegant wedding details—demonstrating the venue’s potential as a dream wedding setting, along with the French-inspired theme.

As the night unfolded, guests sipped French-inspired cocktails, indulged in light hors d’oeuvres, and engaged in meaningful conversations with industry leaders.

Highlights of the Evening

Casey Albrecht, owner of Custom Vows by Casey and a pillar of Charleston’s wedding community, was hailed by Sara Russell of Tight Knot Events as “the melting pot behind Charleston’s wedding industry.”

Reflecting on the event’s growth, Jenna Lanier from Lanier and Company shared, “I’ve been so lucky to have been here from the start, and we’ve just watched it flourish.”

Looking Ahead

For those who missed this enchanting evening, there’s good news—the next Wedding Industry Networking Event will take place on April 22nd at The Waverly. Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of Charleston’s ever-evolving bridal scene, where vendors and couples come together to dream, create, and celebrate.
