Hong Kong: Why Adding This To Your Bucket List Is  A Must

On my way to Bali, I wanted to make the long journey more enjoyable by exploring parts of Asia, and Hong Kong seemed like the perfect stop. With various options at my fingertips, I chose Hong Kong, the birthplace of one of my favorite actors Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee who was raised there and first introduced to the Hong Kong Film industry by his father. As a lover of film and fashion, this city has always intrigued me. I also have fond memories of working with one of my favorite designers, Vivienne Tam, during New York Fashion Week in my past life as a celebrity manicurist. These connections always spark my curiosity and inspire me to explore the places behind the people who have influenced my life.

At World Bride Magazine, we aim to share the beauty and diversity of different cultures, helping couples find inspiration for their wedding plans or honeymoon travels. My brief time in Hong Kong was no exception—it was a memorable experience that I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone looking to add a special stop to their itinerary.

Despite my short stay, I found Hong Kong to be easy to navigate, with both affordable and luxurious accommodations available. The Shangri-La Hotel, synonymous with elegance, stood out as a top recommendation for those seeking a truly luxurious stay. The shopping scene was equally impressive—Hong Kong is full of chic, fashionable people, and the boutiques offer a wide range of styles for every taste.

The food was exceptional, with a blend of flavors that reflect the city’s rich history. Hong Kong’s culinary scene is a mix of Cantonese traditions and modern fusion, offering everything from street food to Michelin-starred restaurants. The customer service was impeccable, making me feel welcome and safe throughout my visit. I even reconnected with a few fellow Americans who have made Hong Kong their home and are enjoying life there.

In addition to the vibrant fashion and food scenes, Hong Kong is also rich in history. A visit to Victoria Peak offers breathtaking views of the city, while the Tian Tan Buddha on Lantau Island provides a serene escape. For couples planning their honeymoon or destination wedding, Hong Kong offers a unique blend of modern city life and cultural heritage.

Whether you’re stopping over on your way to another destination or planning a longer stay, Hong Kong is an exciting city to explore. World Bride Magazine recommends it as a great destination for couples seeking adventure, culture, and luxury. Keep your mind open, and you may just discover the perfect place to create lasting memories.
