Amanda Smith
Amanda Pilar Smith is a native of Mexico, who has lived and traveled in many parts of the world including the U.S., Europe, South Africa, Southeast Asia, and many regions of Mexico. She has worked for over 20 years in the event industry as the owner of a boutique catering company based in New York and Connecticut for 15 years and now as Director of Sales. Previous to that, she lived in Paris where she co-authored a book about open-air food markets, Paris in a Basket (ed Konemann 2000), and freelanced for various magazines. She is a graduate of the Hotel School at Cornell University where she also received her Master. She lives in New York with her daughter Maruca and their dog, Ulu.
