A Hidden Rustic Oasis in Texas

For the bride on the venue hunt for a unique rustic wedding and a place that feels like home, look no further than the hidden oasis of The 4 Eleven. Tucked away in a restored 1920s warehouse on historic South Main Street in Fort Worth, TX, The 4 Eleven brings you a fresh way to eat, shop, and celebrate – all under one roof. I was thrilled to visit this new venue with my Maid of Honor, Adrian, who had moved the restored warehouse to the top of our venue checklist. The red brick entrance may appear to be a stylish storefront, but when the large wooden doors opened to us, the intimate hidden garden that awaited us was simply breath-taking.

Located right in front of the indoor venue, this open air garden lounge can greet guests as they make their way inside the warehouse. This space can also function as cocktail hour space or holding area for the main venue to be flipped for a reception (in only 30-40 minutes!). Holding approximately 100 people, this quaint, ivy-covered Garden Patio features vintage brick walls & lounge decor, creating the perfect ambiance for brunch and bubbly by day or dinner and twinkle lights by night.

Thankfully, The 4 Eleven has various booking options for its several rentable spaces. This indie gem is much more than just its beautiful Texas front yard. Originally built in 1924 as a steel production plant, this warehouse has told many stories. Eventually, it was used as a mattress factory, and today it is home to unique specialty events from wedding receptions and life celebrations to corporate events and holiday parties. Co-Owner and Events Manager Karl Marshall considers this space “your cure for the case of the ordinary!”, and we cannot disagree.

The story of The 4 Eleven begins with 5 creative families who went in on a property together to create something unique. They wanted to establish a multi-layered, flexible space featuring an open airy warehouse, tons of whitespace, fun vintage details and limitless potential. In 2016, this group of doers, thinkers, & entrepreneurs envisioned a special space that would bring people together to experience the best of Fort Worth, TX – like its extraordinary events, local shopping and dining, community experiences and so much more – all in one place. You can truly sense the heart & soul that they have put into making that dream a reality. It’s like being amongst family when in this South Main neighborhood and Fort Worth community! Not only is the staff willing to go above and beyond for their guests, but everyone on the block seems to know each other! While checking out The 4 Eleven, the suite of businesses in the area also created an experience, not just a transaction. You’re welcomed by the likes of Alchemy Pops, The Greenhouse 817, Hecho, LTO, and Winton and Waits (Talk about the indie dream team!).

Co-owners Karl & Belinda Marshall are free spirits when it comes to every customizable details. They serve everything in this wedding venue from Wolfgang Puck to food trucks in their garage-friendly space. The warehouse can easily open up to vehicles and large props to make your special day one step closer to perfection. “You don’t have to do much”, Karl says. “It’s important to us to serve clients and vendors as well”. This is a big positive red flag when hunting for the perfect space. It really does take a team that can work well together to pull off the perfect day.

While the venue has only been open since November 2017, there is no shortage of experience amongst the staff. Karl Marshall has spent more than 20 years building a robust résumé in the events industry. As a planner and producer of both small and large weddings, this events veteran is a very valuable asset to the venue. From nonprofit events and birthday celebrations to intimate gatherings and themed parties, Marshall has seen it all. In addition, his creative expertise spans editorial and fashion show styling, as well as interior design and floral design. (Could things get any better for a ew bride to be?)

It turns out that things DO get even better at The 4 Eleven. Their team believes that a wedding venue should be an extension of where you feel most comfortable, and no area best reflects this spirit than their Baker Suite. This quaint two-room kitchen & living space is like a little couple’s cottage, where you can spend an intimate moment together for a private champagne toast (or have your favorite meal delivered!) right after saying, “I do!”
Also functioning as a bridal suite for the ladies (with the gentlemen in “The Bros’ Nest” upstairs), this indie home-away-from-home is fully furnished in mid-century/modern style. This could be the perfect space for day of bridal events, photo reveal, and small girlfriend gatherings.
