In a world overflowing with shoe options, why would anyone dare step into what seems like an oversaturated market? For American footwear designer Tiannia Barnes, the answer was simple—because women deserve shoes that make them feel confident, special, and sexy. That was enough to capture my attention and capture my curiosity to learn about this brilliant artist.
Let’s talk about where it began. Tiannia Barnes, born and raised in Oklahoma City, didn’t take the traditional fashion route. A prodigy in math and science, she pursued degrees in mathematics, industrial engineering, and an MBA before launching a successful career in IT and project management. But deep down, there was always a creative fire burning—first sparked when she designed her own prom dress in high school.
That spark reignited years later, as Tiannia found herself sketching footwear. In 2013, encouraged by family and friends, she took a leap of faith and enrolled in a shoemaking program in Cleveland, Ohio. Under the mentorship of London-trained designer Sissy Puccio, she honed her skills in footwear construction and design. Her dream was finally taking shape—one sketch, one stitch, one sole at a time.

Today, Tiannia’s eponymous brand is a celebration of elegance and empowerment. Her designs, which have graced runways at Paris and New York Fashion Weeks, are inspired by global travel, architectural beauty, and the multifaceted strength of women. She’s been recognized with honors including Marymount University’s. Barrnes received recognition as one of Footwear News Designers to watch award and was awarded $10,000 in funding through ClearAngel, supporting female entrepreneurs in fashion.
Tiannia continues to give back through her work on advisory councils and STEM/STEAM education initiatives. As a mother, entrepreneur, and creative force, she is walking proof that following your passion leads to purpose.
We are thrilled to introduce you to this visionary brand—because yes, we always need another pair of shoes, especially when they help us walk boldly into our power.
