I had the pleasure of attending an intimate industry only dinner at Neuman’s Kitchen with renowned Chef Floyd Cardoz for what was a pleasing, titillating, mouth-watering experience that you had to experience to believe how good it really was! Neuman’s Kitchen is a legacy family business that started as fish purveyors and transformed in 1981 by Paul Neuman as the catering giant you know today catering over 1800 events in 2018 alone. Guests were taken on a tour of the space which is available for events… Paul gave us the history of the business and the sheer determination to keep the family business alive and transition with the changing times. Paul said of Neuman’s Kitchen “we don’t want to be the best we want to be the only”
You can’t pay for the gems of knowledge and behind the scenes access that we were shown. The level of hospitality and impeccable presentation are a testament to why they are chosen for so many events. During cocktails and networking, I attempted to save room in my stomach for everything that was coming my way. I’m a vodka kind of girl but because the colors were so appealing I dared to be different and tried the gin infused cocktail with cherry grenadine and was pleasantly surprised. It was both fruity and refreshing. Presentation! Presentation! Presentation! Plating is everything in the culinary world and Neumans Kitchen spared no detail. I can see why after many years of being asked to collaborate Chef Floyd Cardoz decided that this was the perfect collaboration to blend his culinary skills, flavor profiles and elevate peoples ideas of Indian Cuisine. Chef Floyd said, ” this was the right fit because Neuman’s Kitchen cares about the food and service and how he could marry his skills with that mission.”
This exquisite dinner melted in your mouth, every morsel was packed with hidden flavors that surprised your taste buds with every chew. Surprisingly I really love kale and the Kale Pakoras were fried to perfection the crispness of the kale which was still fresh even after being lightly coated and fried! Are your senses awakened yet? I’m dreaming about it again as I’m writing this. You can see why Chef Floyd is the winner of the 3rd season of Top Chef Master and James Beard Award recipient. He deserves every accolade that is bestowed upon him. With these two powerhouses joining forces the culinary world and foodies alike are in for a tantalizing flavor explosion in an elevated fusion of Indian Cuisine.
