TWA Makes A Come Back– Airport Hotel & Lounge Will Never Be The Same

JFK’s only onsite-airport hotel opens its 512 soundproof guestrooms, restaurants and retail outlets with a ribbon cutting celebration led by New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo.

Who would have thought we would be telling you how great it is to be at an airport.  I really don’t care about how clean it is, the thought of being at an airport longer then one has to be is just nothing to write about.  Trust me with this one.  You want to be at this airport.  JFK underwent several renovations and still going through renovations that will only improve as time goes by.

On May 15, 2019, TWA alums including Governor Cuomo attend the opening of the TWA Hotel at JFK Hotel in the middle of the airport.

Celebrating the careful restoration of Eero Saarinen’s landmark 1962 former Trans World Airlines terminal — which now serves as the heart of the 512-room hotel — visitors were surprised by a flash mob bopping to period tunes.

It truly felt like a combination of high school and college reunion–excited TWA alums came out in droves, proudly wearing their lovingly preserved uniforms, reuniting with friends and sharing memories. While I may add making new friends with us WBM and sharing their love for flying and countless memorabilia they loveling kept until now.

Speakers also included Rick Cotton, Executive Director of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; Queens Borough President Melinda Katz; Peter Ward, President of the New York Hotel & Motel Trades Council, AFL-CIO; Robin Hayes, CEO, JetBlue; and City Council Speaker Corey Johnson.

The rooms are beautifully designed and absolutely chic for you our couples who are either on your way out to celebrate your honeymoon, or traveling to your destination wedding by way of JFK.

No more missing flights– If you are anything like me and you know you won’t make that flight, fret no more– book a room at TWA Hotel and sleep the night away.  Of course after getting your drink on at the lounge then catch your flight stress-free.

Whether you are coming or going– don’t forget to stop at the TWA stores that are stationed in the amazing lounge and lobby.  Items from books by Phaidon, accessories such as bags, watches, leather goods by Shinola to TWA goodies that will make you proud to become a collector.

So travel in good health.
