Washington DC The Non-Traditional Urban Oasis For Your Destination Wedding

Yes, you read it correctly.  Washington DC can be an Urban Oasis for those of you who simply love the sound of concrete under your feet.  Those of you who long to have the nation’s monumental buildings as a backdropped to your wedding– what a place to host our wedding.

But I really mean it– it is truly a beautiful city if you are diligent enough to do your research or hire the right planner that is familiar with the city. The architecture is absolutely beautiful.  A combination of old, modern and futuristic.

For those of you who like me prefer not to drive, there is the option of taking the train–Amtrak.  The Acela train– what a ride. Smooth and fast. It proved to be very comfortable and just want I needed, easily accessible from New York’s Penn Station in the heart of Manhattan and the price was absolutely reasonable for what it delivers.

As I arrive at the Washington DC Union Station– another beautiful structure and step out of the door and straight ahead, the nation’s Capitol Building.

My address for the next couple of days would be the newly built Conrad Washington DC Hotel, and a beautiful home it will be.  There are plenty of ground transportation services awaiting your arrival to take you to your destination.

As we pulled up to the property the white glove customer service began.  The lobby was exquisite, and the staff friendly. As I get direction through the lobby, which will then lead me to the member’s lobby, I can’t help but be in awe of the beautifully designed space.

The space would definitely be suitable for the most beautiful of weddings with the right planner with the skills and capabilities of utilizing this venue to design an amazing event for a couple looking to host their wedding and guest in the capital of the United States.

At the …. Lounge I am greeted by the lovely front desk staff and offered a beverage while she registers me in.  But mind you she has already prepared everything for my arrival. But I am on vacation so everything is relaxed and not rushed.

The Art of Entertainment

I could not contain my excitement as I prepared to discover their signature restaurant, Estuary, a farm-to-table experience led by the Voltaggio Brothers, bringing the seafood of the Chesapeake to the heart of the District. Reservations are required as seating is limited,

So after checking in I grabbed a cocktail and lavished in the exquisite view of DC’s most iconic architecture at the stunning rooftop bar and lounge. Summit offers a menu of sophisticated and fun cocktails alongside delicious bites. Dedicated elevators to Summit is accessible from the 3rd Floor Atrium from 5:00 PM. For party sizes of 10 or more, reservations are required and food and beverage minimums may apply. Note that maximum capacity at Summit will be enforced and that Summit is open daily, weather permitting.

Reservations for seating are not required as the Sakura Club Dining Room is available on a first-come, first-served basis. On Saturdays and Sundays, Lunch Presentation is substituted by an extended Breakfast Presentation from 6:30 AM until 2:00 PM.

As I make my way to my suite– the beautifully designed spaced is filled with beautiful locations for your wedding photos or engagement images (FYI if you are looking for a cool place to shoot engagement pictures… this is it.)

This outstanding 360-room, 10-floor hotel, and modern wedding venue showcase a restrained, minimalist expression of purity of thought and design to complement the carefully-conceived building. I felt welcomed as I took part in the perfectly curated “wedding week” featured by the team hoping to show me the capabilities of the property for bachelorette parties and rehearsal dinners through the wedding day and a post-event brunch.

Local vendors:  For some of you, our local readers who live in the area and simply got caught up with the familiar and didn’t think you can find someplace fabulous to host your wedding– no worries.  We found it for you, right in your backyard.

The bonus to this beautiful venue is the exquisite shopping experience available for those of you who love to shop and that of the guests that simply love to shop at some of the fashion industries most prestigious boutiques receiving white-glove service.

FYI, each of these boutiques is capable of hosting a private soiree for you and your guests to make this weekend event leading to your wedding unbelievable.  It is all in the planning.

There you have it.  Your wedding can go beyond just a one day experience but can be a memorable experience like no other.

So, meet you in Washington DC at the Conrad.
