Whether you’re looking for an intimate wedding venue or the perfect hotel for your next couples trip, the Kimpton Banneker is worth considering. This elegant hotel in downtown D.C. offers stylish accommodations and first-class amenities. Here’s a closer look at what the Kimpton Banneker has to offer.

The Banneker Hotel on 16th street is named after Benjamin Banneker, one of America’s most important historical figures. This brilliant Black innovator made significant contributions to science and mathematics. He also played a pivotal role in the survey of Washington D.C. He identified the meridian line for the city, which is today 16th street. The Banneker Hotel is located on this street and it was only right that his legacy is honored with this hotel bearing his name.
On the DC rooftop bar scene, one spot stands out from all others — and it’s not because of its location. This indoor/outdoor venue atop The Kimpton Hotel Banneker has views for miles around including unobstructed looks at the White House down 16th Street NW. This spot is most definitely picture-worthy! You’ll be able to enjoy your drink in style while taking part in some fun activities like crackling fire pits! This venue is not only the perfect location for an intimate event but would also make for a great couple’s date night.
The Banneker Hotel offers a variety of amenities to its guests, but one of my favorite features is the 5 pm open bar wine happy hour located in the meeting section of the hotel. This is the perfect place to unwind after a long day of work or exploring the city. And it’s a great opportunity to talk to people from all over the world who are staying at the Banneker. I’ve made some great friends at this hotel, and I always look forward to my evening glass of wine at the open bar. So if you’re looking for a welcoming atmosphere and a chance to meet new people, be sure to check out the Banneker Hotel’s 5 pm open bar wine happy hour.

Dinner was SERVED! The ground-floor French bistro, Le Sel, is one of DC’s most popular dining venues. Le Sel serves classic French fare with a modern twist. The dishes are prepared with locally sourced ingredients and the setting is sleek and sexy. My favorite dishes were the roasted pear salad, classic onion soup, roasted prawns, and beet carpaccio. The braised beef cheeks melted in my mouth, and honesty you cannot leave without indulging in the creme brûlée. Banneker’s Hotel is the perfect place to stay for a romantic getaway or a night on the town. Perfect for an intimate dining experience or a girl’s night, Banneker’s Hotel is the place to be.

Staying here really inspired my creative side. The property is adorned with abstract artwork from a variety of artists, both local and international. Whether you’re admiring the pieces in their public areas or relaxing in your guest room, I’m sure you’ll appreciate the mindful curation of their art collection as I did.

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Washington DC with plenty of history and character, The Banneker hotel is the perfect spot. The rooftop bar offers some of the best views in the city, and the food is pretty delicious too. Plus, there’s always something interesting going on at The Banneker – from art exhibitions to open bar happy hour. So if you’re looking for an interesting and unique place to stay in DC, be sure to check out The Banneker hotel!
