A Not-So-French Tip: Non-Traditional, but Still Classic, Wedding Nails

Have you ever intentionally planned your nails to match your outfit for a specific event? The answer is yes. Whether we like to admit it or not, it’s part of womanhood to spend hours scrolling on the internet to pick the perfect nails for your upcoming self-care day. Now imagine the pressure for the biggest day of your life, your wedding. For many brides, the wedding manicure is one of the most important decisions to be made. After all, these pictures will last a lifetime. As society progresses, weddings are evolving as well. Brides no longer have to wear extravagant white gowns; the opportunities are endless. The same goes for your nails. Say goodbye to the original bride manicure, also known as the French Tip, and hello to this curated list of non-traditional but still classic wedding nail inspirations.

The Reverse French Tip

If you aspire to be different yet still value a bit of the traditional wedding aesthetic, the perfect option is the Reverse French Tip. This manicure takes a unique spin on the classic French Tip while still staying in your classic bride comfort zone. The Reverse French Tip has a white curve at the top of your nails, closer to your cuticle than the bottom.

The Bridal Ombré

For those ready to ditch the tip and the worry of nail chipping before their trip down the aisle, we suggest going for a Bridal Ombré. Have your nail morph from a natural pink to a white color gradually throughout your nail. This look is much softer than the French Tip, making it a suitable choice as it won’t detract from any ornate wedding gown. Another beautiful component is the idea of imperfection, as every nail won’t be precisely the same.

Chrome Calling for Duty

Another nail trend that has taken the world by storm is the chrome nails, inspired by Hailey Bieber. Chrome nails are commonly referred to as a manicure that never loses its shine from a layer of sparkles that compliments any base color. The white glitter combination will compliment a wedding aesthetic that heavily incorporates pearls or the metallic family.

Clear + Script

Inspired by wedding veils with messages sewed on, you can literally wear your vows on your hand. A novel idea for wedding nails is to have clear color and write something like “I do” or “forever” on your nails.

Ode to the Bridesmaids

We propose to ditch the white color entirely in the fifth and final non-traditional wedding nail look. Instead, choose a pop of color by matching your nails to the color of your bridesmaid dresses. This idea will definitely spark some conversation.

Of course, it’s all about the bride. If you’re going to feel confident in a classic French manicure, wish her well and encourage her always to follow her intuition.
