Where & How Did You Meet?

Jack and Miller grew up as backdoor neighbors in Greenville, North Carolina, but while she had sisters (and later a baby brother), Jack was surrounded by brothers, so their childhoods rarely overlapped. Their paths diverged through school and college, reconnecting only briefly at a party in Raleigh. In 2019, Jack messaged her on Facebook during a trip to New York, asking if she still lived there and had restaurant recommendations; when she saw the message a week later and asked why he hadn’t texted, he admitted he wasn’t sure if he still had her number—until a few days later when he texted, “Oh shit, I did have your number!” Flirty chats led to FaceTime calls, and on September 12, 2019, they went on their first date at Death & Taxes in Raleigh. She had flown in early for a work trip, and with encouragement from her best friend, Kirsten, decided to meet Jack for dinner. They shared wine and plates at the bar, catching up on their adult lives, and ended the night closing down the restaurant—one of the best dates she’d had in a long time.

Where Did You Get Married & Why Did You Pick That Location?

When they decided to get married in New York, they knew they wanted a rooftop element—after all, the best views of the city are either from above or afar. After touring several venues, they walked into Greenpoint Loft, and it immediately felt right. The bar, with its eye-catching disco ball-like pattern, drew their attention, and the venue’s industrial elegance stood out. Housed in a converted pre-war rope factory, the space boasts original wood floors, exposed high-beam ceilings, and expansive windows that flood the room with natural light, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. The loft upstairs offers guests a different perspective, and stepping onto the rooftop terrace reveals panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline and the East River. The venue’s versatility, spaciousness, and uniqueness made it the perfect choice.

What Was The Most Important Thing To Each Of You When Planning Your Wedding?

For them, the most important part of wedding planning was staying focused on what mattered most—their love story. It was about sharing this special moment with those who had been part of their journey and staying true to their relationship by incorporating meaningful elements that celebrated their life together, with their personalities shining through. They wanted to give friends and family—many traveling from near and far—the same magical feeling New York gives them each evening, envisioning a romantic ceremony followed by a rooftop sunset, great drinks, and delicious food. To bring this to life, they featured favorite bartenders from Swift crafting cocktails, danced to their friend Kevin Garrett’s cover of “Still the One,” and served dinner from Lil’ Frankies. Every detail was chosen to make the day personal and meaningful, creating an unforgettable experience for those they cherish most.

What Does Family Mean To You?

To them, family means more than just shared bloodlines. It’s about the people who have played a crucial role in shaping who they are—whether by nurturing them with traditions, values, and love or by offering unwavering support and guidance. Their families have given them a sense of belonging, helping them grow into the people they’ve become. But family isn’t limited to those related by birth; it also includes close friends who have been there through thick and thin. These are the people they turn to for advice, the first to hear big news, and always up for planning trips to explore the world together. They may not be related by blood, but they are family in every way that truly matters.
