A New Era of Couture Bridal: House of Gilles

In the heart of New York City, a new name is redefining what it means to be a modern bride. House of Gilles, founded by legendary designer Gilles Mendel and his daughter Chloé Mendel Corgan, brings the art of couture to today’s generation of brides — one gown, one story at a time.

Gilles Mendel is no stranger to the world of luxury fashion. Known for his mastery in couture and elegant craftsmanship, he has spent decades dressing some of the world’s most stylish women. Now, with Chloé by his side, the duo has created House of Gilles — an intimate bridal atelier that celebrates individuality and artistry.

“We wanted to create a space where every gown feels deeply personal,” Chloé shares. “It’s not just about design — it’s about emotion, memory, and connection.”

Each gown is made-to-measure in the brand’s New York atelier, combining timeless techniques with modern sensibility. It’s couture made approachable — exclusive, yet warm and human.

A Bridal Experience Like No Other

At House of Gilles, the process is as beautiful as the gown itself. Brides meet directly with Gilles and Chloé to bring their dream dress to life, from the first sketch to the final fitting.

Every detail, fabric, silhouette, embellishment is thoughtfully chosen to highlight the bride’s personality and story.

“We believe the creation of a wedding gown should feel like a collaboration,” says Gilles. “Each dress is built with care, precision, and emotion.”

For brides short on time, the atelier also offers made-to-order options — maintaining the same level of workmanship, but on a slightly shorter timeline.

Design That Moves and Breathes

House of Gilles gowns are known for their structure and softness — strong lines balanced with light, ethereal fabrics. Lace, silk, and tulle move gracefully with the body, while the signature “invisible architecture” inside each dress ensures a perfect fit.

“True beauty is in the construction you don’t see,” Gilles explains. “It’s the hidden work that makes the gown come alive.”

One of our favorite collections, unveiled at New York Bridal Fashion Week last season, payed homage to old Hollywood glamour with flowing silhouettes, subtle shimmer, and hand-finished detailing — a nod to romance.
