Some professionals build successful careers. Others transform an entire industry. Sarah Young belongs to the latter.
This past spring, World Bride Magazine had the privilege of attending the International Association of Destination Wedding Professionals (IADWP) Jamaica Edition, where Sarah Young took the stage to share the remarkable journey behind her extraordinary career and to empower those in the industry or looking to join the wedding and event space industry. While many of us have admired her work through photographs, industry accolades, and the breathtaking weddings she has orchestrated over the past quarter-century, witnessing her speak in person was an entirely different experience.

Be Inspired
There is something profoundly moving about watching a true pioneer share decades of dedication and hard work with humility, grace, and unwavering passion. Sarah did not simply present her success story in a way that only reminded you of who she is, but inspired you to see the various ways that her many accomplishments can be achieved by everyone with a plan. She graciously shares her life’s work lessons, challenges, and purpose that have defined her career, built on service, excellence, and vision, which are all attainable.
As Founder and Director of Sarah Young Events, established in 2001, Sarah has planned more than 1,000 weddings and celebrations throughout Malta, helping transform the Mediterranean island into one of the world’s most sought-after destination wedding locations. At a time when professional wedding planning was virtually unknown in Malta, she recognized an opportunity not only to serve couples planning from abroad but also to elevate an entire destination onto the global stage.

The Vision
Drawing upon her background in communications, Sarah understood that weddings are far more than beautifully designed events—they are experiences rooted in relationships, storytelling, and meaningful human connection. Her ability to blend creativity with meticulous organization has made her one of the industry’s most respected planners.
What resonated most during her presentation was her willingness to openly share the knowledge she has accumulated over 25 years. In an industry where competition often encourages professionals to guard their secrets, Sarah demonstrated something far more powerful.
Sarah understands that a true legacy is built by educating others.

Legends do not become legends by keeping the door closed behind them. They leave it open for the next generation to walk through.
Her legacy will definitely include her work to bring Malta front and center in the wedding industry. Her work includes her impact in the destination weddings space, managing international clients across multiple time zones, anticipating challenges before they arise, and continuously adapting to changing expectations, which offered invaluable insight for planners at every stage of their careers. She reminds us that while trends may evolve, exceptional hospitality, professionalism, and genuine care will never go out of style.
Equally impactful was hearing fellow industry leaders speak so highly of Sarah. The admiration expressed by her peers reflected something that cannot be manufactured through marketing or awards. Respect earned over decades is perhaps the greatest recognition any professional can receive.

We asked Sarah, What are some of the rewards of doing what you do?
“The greatest reward is knowing that the work we do becomes part of a family’s history. Long after the flowers have faded and the music has stopped, the memories remain. Being trusted to help create those moments is something I never take for granted.” Sarah Young.
Sarah’s influence extends far beyond the weddings she creates. Every celebration she has produced has supported local venues, florists, hotels, transportation providers, entertainers, and countless small businesses throughout Malta. Her work has become an ambassador for an entire destination, contributing to tourism while creating unforgettable experiences for couples from around the world.

At World Bride Magazine, we celebrate professionals who lead with integrity, elevate others, and leave the industry stronger than they found it.

Watching Sarah Young on stage at IADWP Jamaica was a powerful reminder that success is measured not only by the events we produce but by the lives we influence, the knowledge we share, and the legacy we leave behind. Sarah Young has done all three with extraordinary distinction, and the wedding industry is better because of her remarkable contribution.
