Royal Palace with a History Fit for a King: Pierre Hotel’s Legacy

White glove service is an experience one should enjoy at least once during one’s lifetime. On your wedding day or anniversary this can be even more phenomenal. Given the importance of the occasion, it is absolutely imperative that you provide your guests with a wonderful experience. Especially for those who are traveling from out of town.

Manhattan Island is far more exquisite than anyone can describe. It is magical every season of the year, and having the right address will only make the visit most memorable. 5th Avenue continues to be one of the most visited streets on the island with the most amazing stores, museums, and shopping boutiques. While many New Yorkers may take for granted the wonderful addresses that make this city great, this is one New Yorker that enjoys the breathtaking architecture on some of the buildings that border Central Park.

The Pierre Hotel, A Taj Hotel property, comes to mind and will make your visit most memorable. Whichever entrance you choose to enter, you will be greeted by the most superb staff members. Before I could make my way to the door, the doorman greeted me with a warm smile welcoming me to the establishment that I had heard so much about. While I may have lived in the city for some 39 years, I hadn’t actually visited this historical landmark I have walked by a million times, and oddly this beautiful structure always seemed to whisper an invitation. For the life of me I don’t know why I had this feeling of intimidation by its beauty, but when I finally overcame that feeling and boldly walked through its doors I knew I was at home, and now I cannot stay away.

I recall attending the launch of Sirio, and really understood their ability of delivering flawless service and preparing the most amazing menu. From the moment I entered the ballroom I was in awe, the masterful artwork left me speechless. The opulent appointments and impeccable attention to detail reflect the founders’ commitment in 1930, and has become a royal tradition.

This five star hotel should definitely be a consideration for those who can appreciate Indian masterpieces, art that radiates vibrant colors, mixed with the European touch. Besides the breathtaking Rotunda room, which is one of the major highlights of the property, the rich history of this amazing property and its connection to Indian royalty began when it turned 75 and the Taj legacy acquired the property to ensure that its history would continue.

The Taj family legacy stands on its own, and when combined with the history of the Pierre Hotel it becomes a topic of great interest for those of you that love history as much as I do. According to Wikipedia, Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, founder of the Tata Group, opened the Taj Mahal Palace, a hotel in Mumbai (then, Bombay) overlooking the Arabian Sea, on 16 December 1903.

This luxury hotel brand group has various versions of why this legendary family opened up the first luxury hotel in India, the stories and versions of truth may vary but whichever one seems more accurate we appreciate that it continues along the path of providing a luxury stay for all its guests around the world. The Pierre Hotel being a member of this prestigious family.

And, it is that rich history of commitment to elegance, service and beauty that I found most rewarding during each visit to the Pierre Hotel. Their hotel suites are beautifully designed, comfortable beds, extraordinary appointments and in the right room amazing Manhattan views. Each room is fully equipped with top of the line, modern equipment. The entire property is a wonderful excursion, there are wonderful high-end shops, and a Jazz Club that often has great entertainment to top off an evening.  The Pierre Hotel helps you create a memorable experience for you and your guests during your weekend wedding celebration.
