Su Gologone Invites You To Experience Nature In The Heart of Sardinia

As the plane sped towards Sardinia, my exhaustion seemed to lift with the altitude. After a whirlwind tour across four countries, my mind and body were craving respite. Su Gologone, tucked away in the heart of Sardinia, beckoned like a sanctuary promising solace from the chaos of my recent travels. Admittedly, I was no country girl, nor did I harbor a penchant for nature walks or cave exploration. Bugs made me nervous, and my love for animals was conditioned to be appreciated from a safe distance. Thus, the invitation to Su Gologone wasn’t initially at the top of my list.

Yet, upon arrival, any hesitations dissipated as swiftly as the clouds above. The journey from the airport to the property was a gradual descent into tranquility. As the car wound its way through the countryside and up the mountains, I found myself surrendering to the natural beauty surrounding me. By the time we reached the gates of Su Gologone, I had already shed the layers of stress accumulated from my travels, leaving them behind in the valleys below.

Entering the grounds felt like stepping into an alternate reality—one far removed from the hustle and bustle of city life. The environment, meticulously curated with vibrant colors and exquisitely crafted furniture, embraced me with its rustic charm. While antique furnishings may not be what is typically promoted, it is my style, the elegance and grace of each piece spoke to me in a way I hadn’t expected. It was as though every element had been placed with divine precision, inviting me to surrender to the serenity that enveloped the property.

At Su Gologone, relaxation wasn’t just encouraged; it was inevitable. The pace of life slowed to a gentle rhythm, allowing me to reconnect with nature, history, and the sound of my own heartbeat. You can enjoy morning yoga sessions overlooking the rugged landscape to afternoons spent exploring the nearby nuragic sites, every moment is an opportunity for introspection and rejuvenation. Or if you just prefer a hike along the grounds, or stroll off-property to the freshwater Springs less than 10 minute’s walk.

The culinary offerings mirrored the hotel’s commitment to authenticity and tradition. The “Centenarians menu” celebrated the longevity of Sardinian culture, featuring a delectable array of local specialties that tantalized the taste buds and nourished the soul.

What makes this place so unique is the commitment of the three women who run the place, the founder, the mother Pasqua who founded this place with her husband  Giuseppe “Peppeddu” Palimodde, Giovanna Palimodde the daughter– the designer, and curator of the beautiful establishment, and her daughter– Camilla, the event planner/wedding planner for the property. If that wasn’t enough they have single-handedly employed 80% of women to this establishment and are keeping neighboring towns employed by hiring locals. Talk about sustainability.

Things To Do: From Nothing To Everything:

The Su Gologone hotels offer guests an array of activities to reconnect with nature or if it is your first time exploring your nature side.

The Panoramic view of Mount Corrasi is what you can wake up to every morning during your stay.

The staff can curate a wonderful itinerary for you that can be as slow-paced as you want or as rigorous as you may be accustomed to. From horse riding to Kayaking, on the Cedrino river.

Or if you simply want to stay on the grounds, there are countless things to do from the tennis courts, football court, mini-golf, and a playground for the children.

They offer an array of classes such as cooking classes to learn how to make pasta, and bread to ceramic classes which can be very relaxing. Or the creative embroidery and painting courses organized at the Botteghe d’arte of Su Gologone.

As I reluctantly bid farewell to Su Gologone, I carried with me not only memories of breathtaking landscapes and exquisite cuisine but also a newfound appreciation for the simple joys of life. In a world consumed by constant motion, Su Gologone reminded me of the importance of slowing down, savoring the moment, and finding beauty in unexpected places.
