Tight Knot Events officially started just two months after Sara and her husband Ryan’s wedding. The name “Tight Knot” is an ode to their shared love for fishing and their lake upbringing, where “tight lines” symbolize good luck among anglers. This reflects Sara’s commitment to crafting events that are not only visually perfect but rich in meaning.
Although new, Tight Knot Events operates with seasoned expertise. Sara has worked in the luxury events industry for six years, with this year marking her first as a business owner. She focused on establishing a reputable, licensed, and insured company by investing in mentorship and the tools necessary to create a trusted name while prioritizing strong relationships with top vendors. “You’re only as strong as your weakest link,” Sara explains. Her strategy has paid off, allowing her to showcase her creative vision through her first styled shoot.
The exclusive shoot, held at a historic Charleston home South of Broad, is a testament to Sara’s design expertise. Inspired by her love for Nantucket and a blend of Charleston’s charm with old Miami essence, the shoot encapsulates the cities’ ability to tie in comfort and beautiful luxury—much like what she does for her clients. She collaborated with Codi McIntyre of CHEERS Charleston, photographers Vlad Photo and Dana Cubbage Weddings, as well as videographers Ivory Image Films and SK Films Group. The shoot features dresses from White on Daniel Island, linens from BBJ La Tavola, and custom-designed floral arrangements by Sara herself—to create Tight Knot perfection!
“My mission is to be your bridal advocate, your bridal bestie,” Sara says, emphasizing her dedication to transparency and taste. Design is her first love, and she always incorporates a focal element as the signature of every wedding. “Just as Disney hides Mickeys throughout its parks,” Sara explains, she uses a branding element for a personal, unforgettable touch. “We’re the architects of core memories,” she adds, encapsulating the philosophy that drives Tight Knot Events.
