Some brands host a presentation. Anne Barge’s Fall 2027 collection arrived over tea, flowers, and a custom bridal mahjong set with Mahj Tile Haus.

Anne Barge Fall 2027 at New York Bridal Fashion Week

Tuesday morning, the opening day of New York Luxury Bridal Fashion Week, I walked into The Fifth Avenue Hotel, stepped into The Grand Salon, the mansion’s primary ballroom, and realized why I still love this work. Venetian glass chandeliers bloomed overhead like seashells turned to light. Powder-blue drapes gathered at tall windows. A carpet woven in faded coral and cornflower ran the length of the room, and in the corner, a column wrapped in Chantilly lace rose out of a cascade of roses in peach, blush, and ivory, threaded with white larkspur and a spray of delphinium so blue it looked painted.

Before a single gown appeared, the room had already made its argument: romance is not an accessory. It is architecture.

Then came the tea. Three tiers of white porcelain, each plate scalloped and embossed like lace, carried lemon tarts crowned with tiny blossoms, pastel macarons, gougères topped with a jewel of jam, savory tartlets, and crustless finger sandwiches. Mimosas made their rounds. At every place, a single stem of pink ranunculus leaned from a small white bud vase beside a silk-shaded lamp. Ranunculus is my favorite flower. I took it personally, and I took it as a welcome.

Anne Barge and Mahj Tile Haus: A Bridal Collaboration Worth Playing

The surprise of the morning was the table itself. Anne Barge partnered with Caroline Johnson, founder of Mahj Tile Haus, on a custom mahjong set called Atelier de Maison, and it is one of the most charming collaborations I have seen in bridal.

The four winds, North, East, West, and South, are drawn as sketched brides, each letter sweeping into a gown. The Jokers read like a wedding-day storyboard: a mermaid gown, a pair of bridal heels tied with bows, a champagne toast, a strand of pearls, and a townhouse. The flower tiles carry ranunculus, lily, hydrangea, peony, and orchid. Even the dots are wedding symbols, printed in soft blue and lilac, and the soap dragon is framed in cherry blossoms. Lucite racks, painted botanical mats, and a printed tile guide completed the set.

Why mahjong at a bridal show? Because Shawne Jacobs, president and creative director of Anne Barge, understands something important: a bride does not live in her gown alone. She lives in a world of gatherings, showers, luncheons, and the long tables where women tell the truth to each other. Mahjong is that table.

Shawne, in a floral linen dress with bishop sleeves and a silk scarf at the waist, and Caroline, in a lavender maxi printed like a toile and finished with a lace hem, welcomed the room with the ease of hostesses who actually like their guests. You could feel it.

The Silhouettes, Fabrics, and Details of Anne Barge Fall 2027

And the gowns? They walked between the tables, close enough to touch, which is exactly how bridal should be seen.

The collection moves between two languages: sculpted silhouettes and serious lace. Full skirts sit alongside fitted shapes, with texture giving each its own character. The collection’s fabric notes include Italian Kalika, silk satin chiffon, floral cutwork embroidery, and corded lace layered over Chantilly.

Corsetry is the thread that ties it all together. Nearly every bodice I saw was built with visible structure, boned and shaped, yet nothing looked stiff. As a designer, I notice what holds a gown up before I notice what decorates it, and Anne Barge holds up beautifully.

The Standout Wedding Dresses: Restraint, Volume, and Lace

A strapless gown with a softly draped sweetheart neckline fell into a clean A-line skirt and finished with a bow at the back. It was pure restraint, and it was the most modern look in the room. A strapless jacquard gown followed with a dropped basque waist and a skirt so full it seemed to breathe, its tone-on-tone florals catching the chandelier light like frost on a window.

Then the lace took over. A strapless ball gown in bold floral motifs, cut into oversized leaves and blossoms, swept the floor with a cathedral train. Up close, the motifs were raised and dimensional, almost carved.

A full lace ball gown with a scalloped hem and inverted pleats at the hip carried the old-world romance the house is known for. A scoop-neck gown with a lace corseted bodice floated beneath a cathedral veil, its appliqués trailing down a soft skirt.

A V-neck column in allover lace, built on a corset and finished with a scalloped hem, gave the collection its quiet sophistication. A fitted trumpet with a tulle skirt drew every phone in the room as it walked away.

Why Anne Barge Fall 2027 Stayed With Me

“Classic with a modern twist” is the phrase the house uses for itself, and for Fall 2027, it is earned. Anne Barge did not chase a single trend. Instead, Shawne Jacobs set a table, dealt a hand, and let the gowns speak in the language of women who gather. It was gracious, it was witty, and it was deeply feminine. In a week built on spectacle, the most memorable moment was an invitation to sit down.

I left with pearls on my mind, a ranunculus on my table, and one thought I could not shake: the best bridal houses do not just dress the bride. They dress the life around her.
