Tharaphy For The Soul

Esther Htun began her journey to create herb-infused liquid balms to cure her muscle aches and pains. She inherited her wisdom of the intricacy of herbs from her ancestors. Inspired by traditional apothecary techniques, Tharaphy became her life goal. Derived from the Burmese name for Calophyllum spectabile, an aromatic flower that blossoms in the noteworthy month of Tabang, Tharaphy has a mission to thoughtfully deliver plant-based and sustainable beauty balms and products to help others focus on their daily life.

During the aggressive military coup in Myanmar, Esther fled her home country to the safety of the small island of Koh Phangan in southern Thailand. Her passionate and harrowing journey allows her to provide healing through aromatherapy and provide benefits without negatively impacting the planet. Her products are artfully made with organic ingredients and essential oils that are cruelty-free, GMO-free, and presented in gorgeous sustainable packaging.

Mixed-race Ether is half Kachin, a small hill tribe from the Tibetan Plateau and half Burmese. She’s a brave Leo and loves woody and earthy tones. After graduating from the University of Yangon with a certificate in Cosmetic Technology, she combined her technical knowledge with ancient herbalism techniques learned from her mother. As an intuitive tarot reader, she heals the body and soul with herbs, tarot, aromatherapy and spirituality through her organic brand, Tharaphy.

Established in early 2020, she commenced her journey by releasing her first incense cones. The all-natural cones are a delicately handcrafted mixture of sandalwood, cinnamon, ground flowers, herbs, resins and essential oils to create a beautiful, non-toxic aroma. All the ingredients are free from worrisome toxins such as the phthalates, preservatives, parabens and carcinogens lurking in many daily life products. The cones burn slowly with a gentle flow allowing the natural aroma to infuse the scent into a room, aiding prayer, meditation, yoga, reading, working and pre-wedding nerves. The calm fragrance helps focus the mind, reduce stress, aid sleep and calm the soul. Eco-friendly packaging allows Esther to take responsibility for the world and to be free from pollution. Tharaphy values the scent of Mother Earth.

Koh Phangan is fondly known as Thailand’s ‘healing island’, where dense tropical forests are peppered with colourful temples. Tharaphy balms are formulated using Asian and Western apothecary and aromatherapy to heal the body naturally. The plant-based ingredients include soy wax, shea butter and grapeseed oil to deliver a non-greasy, nourishing and smooth application. The cruelty-free balms include magic muscle which contains cayenne, calendula, lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus and chamomile to relieve muscle tension and reduce inflammation. Tharaphy zero stress balm has magical ingredients, including citronella, rosemary and eucalyptus, to relieve stress and afford a calming effect to the body and mind. Esther produces customised scents, incense cones and personal care products ideal for wedding favours and gifts to spoil the wedding party.

Since ancient times, incense has been used in worship, to connect with spirituality and radiate purity for positive rituals. The scents of Mother Nature are healing and afford a sense of peace and calm. Burning natural incense has a host of soul-level benefits, including positive physical and psychological effects. Incense can naturally reduce stress and anxiety, soothe the nervous system and promote the release of serotonin that helps modulate moods, stimulate creativity, treat insomnia and fight sorrow.

Esther handcrafts all Tharaphy products with endless love and light.
