Grand congratulations are in order for the Nigerian-born Canadian designer Esé Azénabor, one of today’s most respected couture bridal and evening wear designers.
Azénabor’s expansion to Madison Avenue, New York, marks the brand’s success. The boutique opening took place on February 15th, 2023; amongst family, and close friends, were diplomats and socialites such as Ambassador Lot Peter Egopija, Consul General of Nigeria, Vanessa Noel, Prince Dimitri, Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin, Debra Lee, Don Murphy, Rolonda Watts, and Peter Tarantino were spotted.
The designer unveiled a few key pieces during the grand opening, proudly displaying her new collection.
A rich color palette introduces brocade gowns and embroidered organza pieces that overlay the evening gowns.
Petal-inspired dresses were featured in bold, bright colors, and the designer’s signature high-slit gown with a feathered, detachable skirt.
Bridal overcoats in Silk satin blended fabrics delicately embellished with pearls ushered in the bridal gowns.
A Greco-Roman influence comes through in this fully beaded column dress.
A mixture of asymmetry is seen on a few of the gown’s bodices. In comparison, how the textiles are used shows a juxtaposition of strong structure and soft fluidity.
There is an homage to art and floral motifs seen throughout the presentation.

Every detail was impeccably designed, starting from the beautiful invitations hand-delivered to each invited guest designed by Oda Creatives, another splendid designer one must know about for any upcoming events you want to make a statement with. Sabine Poisson, Inc. executed the catering and floral design for the opening on the 15th and the sit-down dinner on the 16th. All in attendance were left speechless by the conversion of the boutique to host both these soirees, along with a fashion show presentation.
