The first Monday in May is an observed holiday in the fashion world—it’s the celebration of The Met Gala. Fashion lovers from all around the globe tune-in to watch celebrities, designers, influencers, and their guests arrive to the Metropolitan Museum’s iconic red carpet step-and-repeat (which was actually a green carpet this year) dressed in their interpretation of the yearly theme. The Met Gala is an annual fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. The gala not only raises money for the Costume Institute, it also ushers in the opening of an exhibit, this year’s being titled “Sleeping Beauties, Reawakening Fashion.”
This year’s theme was “The Garden of Time” and the red carpet was blossoming with fashion’s finest looks. The theme doesn’t have to end at the red carpet, however. Allow me to highlight some inspiration you can take from the red carpet and incorporate into your wedding day fashion choices!
