The test drive journey at Porsche Brooklyn began in an upscale and modern showroom, filled with large windows, warmly-appointed seating areas, and walls adorned with paintings of Porsches by a local artist. This new location for Porsche opened nearly 2 years ago, serving as a sales and service hub for not just Brooklyn, but the surrounding boroughs outside of Manhattan as well. Guests are promptly greeted and offered a bite to eat and a variety of beverages—an offer hard to resist. The wait to meet with Mo Taher, the extremely personable, knowledgeable, and attentive General Sales Manager, was short. We spent time swapping vacation tales and tips while the test vehicles were being prepared. Before long, the exploration of the first car, the all-electric Macan, was underway.

To truly experience the Macan, I decided to take it from the dealership down to the tip of Brooklyn, along the Belt Parkway, and over to Coney Island. This route offered a perfect blend of urban traffic and open highway stretches, allowing me to fully engage with the car’s features. The Frontal Collision Avoidance gave peace of mind when following too closely, while the Lane Departure Warning kicked in seamlessly when attempting to merge too closely behind another car.
