The name Joseph Abboud is a notable name in classic menswear and is most synonymous with the Men’s Wearhouse. The brand had its first appearance on the bridal week calendar this April in New York with a presentation at The Lamb’s Club.
For those unfamiliar, Joseph Abboud’s career took him from a buyer at Louis Boston to Ralph Lauren to launching his namesake label in 1987. He won several CFDA awards for Best Menswear Designer and has a roster of celebrity clients, including Wynton Marsalis. In 2012, the brand began its partnership with The Men’s Wearhouse. In 2020, licensing agreements and the acquisition of the name allowed Abboud to gracefully step out of the brand he’s built, but the legacy of his classic men’s apparel continues. The purveyor of men’s wardrobe staples is bringing his message to a new generation, starting with the bridal week gathering and continuing with its latest campaign, “A Life Well Suited,” which stars actors Will Catlett, Ilfenesh Hadera, and U.S. Army Green Beret, Nate Boyer.

Although men dress casually and workwear can be a pair of sweatpants these days, men still want to dress sharp for their wedding. A suit or tuxedo is still the gold standard for a wedding. At the pre-dinner eatery, The Lamb’s Club, the brand presented 5 suiting looks among the 1940s red banquettes and a wall of celebrity photos from the restaurant’s heyday. The models portrayed an effortless but confident vibe as they sauntered out wearing double-breasted velvet suiting, mixed and matched white and black dinner jackets and trousers, and a dove grey 3-piece suit. The suits and tuxedos that were presented are 100% made to order, so grooms can choose fabrics and get personalized fittings before the delivery of their bespoke suit. Joseph Abboud’s apparel is all made in the USA and is available at 1400 retailers across North America, including Men’s Wearhouse.
