The phoenix is often the bird associated with rebirth, cyclically regenerates, or is otherwise born again. After the horrific horrors that the Lebanese people have had to face–I stand on the mountains to sing praises of one of my favorite designers–Zaid Nakad. I had the honor of meeting him and interviewing him in Paris at one of his amazing shows. So it gives me great pleasure to see he continues to bring us beauty and creativity during such dark times. Bravo.

“The Birds of Paradise of the Lebanese designer Ziad Nakaded landed at the Chateau de Vaux-Le-Vicomte for a collection full of colors and symbols.

“Straight from Beirut, bruised by recent events, longing for escape, for dreams, for travel. Ziad wanted his collection sexy, slightly frivolous, in order to regain the carefree life of yesterday. The dresses are majestic, transparent, airy, the ostrich feathers mingle with silk and lace. All pieces are entirely hand-embroidered in the designer’s atelier, the lockdown has given time to time.. for example, the wedding dress required 3 months of work or three months of escape..”

Sit back and enjoy–take it all in–breath and fall in love.
