A Philippine Masterpiece Curated by Gideon Hermosa Celebrating 15 Years Of Artistry

My experience with Filipino culture has always been rooted in graciousness. Since childhood, I have known the Filipino community to embody warmth, hospitality, respect, and a kind of effortless kindness that makes you feel seen and welcomed. So, when I received the invitation to go to the Philippines to celebrate Gideon Hermosa’s 15 anniversary in Manilla, I did not hesitate. Gideon curated a few days of experiences that could not be missed. Guests traveled from all over the world to celebrate and to witness what promises to be an extraordinary soiree.

It was no surprise that we were greeted with a level of care that felt both familiar and elevated. It was graciousness refined—what I can only describe as white-glove hospitality with heart. From the moment we landed until our final goodbyes, every detail was intentional, thoughtful, and beautifully executed.

Our stay began at the Manilla Marriott Hotel at Newport World Resorts, where the staff and environment immediately reflected the culture I’ve admired for decades. But it was Gideon and his team who took that hospitality and turned it into an experience. Renowned globally for his ability to “Gideonize” a space—transforming it into something cinematic and emotional—he welcomed us not as visitors, but as guests of honor. We were invited not only to see the Philippines, but to understand it through his lens: creative, romantic, deeply cultural, and meticulously curated.

Throughout our stay, we had the privilege of watching Gideon at work. Observing him design in real time was like watching a conductor lead an orchestra. He is not simply an event stylist—he is a storyteller. At House of Hermosa, styling goes beyond flowers and décor. It is about energy, narrative, rhythm, and emotion. He and his team curate an entire world: the way the program flows, how the entertainment feels, how guests move through a room, the culinary experience, the lighting, the sound—every detail contributes to the journey. It is hospitality as art.

His masterclasses, along with sessions led by him and other invited industry experts, elevated the experience even further. They reminded us that mastery isn’t about control—it’s about intention. Gideon’s belief in listening to a couple’s love story, embracing cultural nuances, and trusting the professionals you hire resonated deeply. “Enjoy the process and trust your team,” he shared—a simple but powerful truth.

Our Gala Night was unforgettable. We met notable figures, creators, and cultural icons—a testament to the brilliance and diversity of talent within the Philippines. And just when we thought the experience had reached its peak, we traveled to Amanpulo. The Aman Resortl was paradise personified: pristine beaches, soothing quiet, and service that understood your needs before you voiced them. It was the pinnacle of luxury—unpretentious, restorative, perfect.

If Gideon can curate an experience like this for us—industry leaders, artists, and observers—then one can only imagine the devotion he pours into every wedding and event he creates. Gideon and his team are more than designers. They are ambassadors of Filipino excellence, curators of hospitality, and the embodiment of the gracious culture I have admired all my life.

This journey was not just a trip. It was a homecoming of the heart.
